Maya Workshop 1: Introduction to Maya

Description /What you learn:
Take a look at the interface and commonly used hotkeys for Maya animation. How pan, zoom, and orbit around objects in 3D space. This is just to get orientated for those of you who have never used Maya.

Exercises:
No exercise, but there is a download for this workshop. It includes a list of important hotkeys for Maya character animation. Print it out for reference (if you need it).

Maya Workshop 2: Creating and Moving 3D Objects  

Description /What you learn:
How to create 3D primitives in Maya. Show skinning and wireframe. Then move them around by translating, rotating and scaling.

Exercises:
No download for this one. Feel free to practice on your own.

Maya Workshop 3: Character Sets and Shelf Buttons

Description /What you learn:
Before we start animating we should set ourselves up for easy character control selections. Here’s two different ways to do it and why. We will use a pre-rigged and textured ball.

Exercises:
Download and open the file. Set up the ball with character sets (or a shelf button if you prefer). Save it to use in Maya Workshop 4
