About

Bio

My name is Chris and I work as a Character Animator in Canada. I'm also the author of Animation Career Pro (the blog)

I've been animating since 1998. In 2006/07 I was a Lead animator and in 2008 worked as an Animation Director on a Gemini Award winning TV series. I now work as an independant contractor from my home office - still as a character animator on various TV series and projects.

Animation Career Pro

By 2009 I felt like I had learned so much about working as a Character Animator in the industry I wanted to share some of what I know in a blog... plus it helps me to remember it all :) So I launched animcareerpro.com/blog in February 2009 to post industry insights, tips, and info.

The blog has grown in content and popularity, so I added features such as a monthly Quick Animation Review, and Training Workshops (Flash and Maya character animation).

This site is dedicated to archiving all past Training Workshops from the blog. Once they get removed from the blog, they will be placed here at Animation Career Pro (the site).

The goal is to eventually have complete courses in Flash character animation, and Maya character animation, broken down in to simple instruction with out all the techy babble so that anyone can train - free! right here on this site.

Visitors

Both my blog and this site cater mostly to beginners, but there are many animators who only know 2d animation or 3d animation. As I explain frequently on my blog, it's very advantageous to know both, so more experienced animators may find it useful to be here as well.

Thanks for visiting, and feel free to contact me with questions. Look forward to chatting with you.
